You can cancel your membership within 14 days of your joining date. Please refer to your terms and conditions.

Non-members are very welcome. All our gym, swim, courts & classes are open for non-members to book on a ‘pay as you go’ basis.  Once you get into a good habit of benefiting from the activities you enjoy may find that becoming a member is more cost effective for you. Selected membership packages include a bring a friend option, please speak to staff at site to see if this included in your package, alternatively your friend can purchase a 1 Day Complete Membership online for £6.99 for a friend to come along with you, click here to buy.

Simply by contacting a member of our team at reception or by completing a get in touch form on the fitness & wellbeing page and a member of our team will contact you as soon as possible. Gym inductions are bookable 7 days a week across all locations.

Our experienced personal trainers are very popular. Whether you are new to exercise or an experienced exerciser working with a personal trainer is beneficial.  You can purchase a 1 to 1 session or a group session. We also have a fantastic PT offer of buy 6 sessions for the price of 5. To find the right trainer for you simply complete the get in touch form for your relevant location or speak to a member of the team on the next visit.

All of our locations have Wi-Fi.  Please speak to a member of the team to obtain the password.

Yes each location has a lost property area, please complete your centres form or speak to the reception team on your next visit.

Your Member ID can be requested by completing a contact form and a member of team will respond ASAP, you will require your Member ID.

To freeze/unfreeze your membership simply contact us to do so by completing the contact form on your relevant locations page.  Please refer to your terms and conditions.

We are sorry to hear that you are thinking of leaving us. Please apply by completing the application to cancel. We will contact you within 7 working days and we hope to find an alternative solution to cancellation depending upon your circumstances. Please refer to your terms and conditions.

DFC is a third party company who collect our Agreement Direct Debits and collect outstanding fees on our behalf. Any outstanding fees collected can be made at your local facility, using our Mobile App, DFC My Payments or contact them direct on 01908 422 000.

You can contact DFC direct regarding payments or complete a contact us form.

Yes each site has parking. Parking is free at all sites apart from Altrincham Leisure Centre. At Sale Leisure Centre you will need to input your car reg in reception area each time you attend to avoid car parking fine.

Yes, the location of your choice has changing and shower facilities.

Family

We have something for everyone in your family, including swimming lessons, gymnastics and fitness programmes. Please visit our families pages.

Children on the membership can swim, play racquet sports and benefit from junior gym sessions. There’s also 10% discount available on our courses.

We’ve got a huge range of activities for your children to enjoy. There’s a full programme of activities daily to keep kids occupied and happy e.g. holiday camps, junior gym, gymnastics, parties and much more. You can also enjoy activities individually or together as a family.  Children on a family membership can swim, play racquet sports, junior gym sessions and also receive 10% discounts on our Courses. Classes

Yes, we have TAB for you to enjoy, which is unique to Trafford Leisure! This 45 minute signature cycle class by the best instructors offers varied intensity and burns calories for hours after the class.  This new class is currently based at Altrincham Leisure Centre

Yes ladies only classes are available at Stretford Chester Centre, view the schedule here.

You can book up to 7 days in advance for our classes/courts. Bookings can be made on our App, online or in person at your local facility

 

move Urmston FAQs

Fitness & Wellbeing Gym & Studios

Our orientation at move Urmston allows members to get started and be provided with a brief overview of the gym and fitness areas within a 30 min time period or 15minutes for existing members. Members will be explained how to download the mywellness app, if they have not already done so already, and be shown how this can be accessed via the tile on the twmove app. A short overview of mywellness and its capabilities should be explained whilst on the orientation.

The new member will also be presented with their RFID wristband and given a short tour of the facility where you will explain how the wristband should be used when arriving at move, accessing doors and operating our Technogym equipment where applicable. The orientation should not go into full details about individual programming but is a chance to mention the full induction (if applicable) and how a programme could be beneficial.

Existing Trafford Leisure members can start booking an orientation from Wednesday 1st April 2020. The cost of the orientation is just £2.00, and members will be issued with an access fob on arrival. If the existing Trafford Leisure member would prefer a move wristband, this can be purchased at the cost of £7.50.

An induction is not being offered until May 1st.

Our induction at move Urmston is a much more detailed 1 hour process. All members will have had their orientation and on the most part know how the equipment is operated. A member will book the session through concierge or through the app. A level 3 qualified instructor/PT must take the induction. The induction is an opportunity to go into much more detail on mywellness and present the member with a detailed programme which includes the option of a full health check on the Tanita scales. The induction will lead into the members 12 week journey. All instructors/PTs should aim to have the first training programme available to the member within 48hrs of the induction.

The completely redesigned look and feel envisages three areas:

  • FACILITY AREA: Discover all the services that your move Urmston provides and choose what interests you most.
  • MY MOVEMENT: Here you can find what you’ve chosen to do: your programme, the classes you’ve booked, the challenges you’ve joined and all the other activities you’ve chosen to do at your club.
  • RESULTS: Check your results and monitor your progress.
    Train with the mywellness app, collect MOVEs, and get more and more active every day.

Enjoy the best experience in Technogym equipped clubs using mywellness app to connect with every single equipment by Bluetooth or QR Code. The equipment will automatically set up with your programme and your results will be automatically tracked on your mywellness account.

Log MOVEs manually or sync with other apps such as Apple Health, Fitbit, Garmin, MapMyFitness, MyFitnessPal, Polar, RunKeeper, Strava, Swimtag and Withings.

General

Our café will open at varying times over the first few weeks as they build up to full centre opening times by the end of April. The menu will focus on coffee and light snacks to start with, whilst the café team gains valuable feedback from you, our customers, on what you would like to see on the menu. We are removing the high content sugary drinks and the new café will not sell still bottled water – so please carry a water bottle so you may fill your bottle up with water at either the café or the gym.

The GM Active Gym & Swim Membership is a new membership which entitles the user to enhanced access to our collective facilities across Greater Manchester.

A total of 58 facilities that GM Active members operate are part of this new exciting membership scheme, which will allow residents in Greater Manchester to take part in swimming and gym sessions near to where they live or work.

If you are currently on a premium (top-level) membership with a GM Active organisation then you can upgrade your membership to a GM Active Gym & Swim Membership for free and you can then use over 60 GYMS and 50 SWIMMING POOLS across Greater Manchester.

Contact the reception at your current home site (where you originally signed up for your membership) and a GM Active membership will be added to your profile.

If you are a member simply use your wristband to gain access and lock your locker

If you are a pay and play customer, you have two options –

  • If you enjoy coming swimming regularly, then you may prefer to purchase a wristband at a cost of £7.00
  • Alternatively, lockers are available to use that take a £1.

As you will see from our new building, we did not want to have any barriers at the front entrance. The doors to the activity spaces are fitted with access control and the corridor going down to the swimming pool has an access control barrier. If you are a member, you simply use your wristband to gain access to each of the areas. If you are a pay and play customer, your receipt will show a bar code and this is what you must use to gain entry to each door or the swimming pool barrier

Simply speak to a member of the move team; the cost of a new band is £7.50

We are currently reviewing all of our existing memberships and in turn assessing the demand for a racquets membership. An update will follow for current members enjoying racquets over the summer.

The focus of our offers going forward will be to target those in our community who are currently not active to get active. We have spent time developing the right price for the right product for move and we have no current plans to do any discounts after opening.

Car Parking is for our customers only and free. There is no charge at the local car park at Pennybridge lane. Upon arrival at the centre you will need to input your registration number into the system to allow you to access the free parking.

Your wristband will enable you to access studios, equipment, Mywellness assessment, lockers, swimming and activities.

You will be issued with a wristband as part of your membership to gain access to your Move Well membership. Please keep this safe and ensure you use the wristband to gain access to move Urmston facilities on every visit. In the event you lose your wrist band, a replacement one can be purchased at site at a cost of £7.50.

Monday to Friday – 6.30am till 10.30pm

Saturday 8.00am – 7.00pm

Sunday 8.00am – 9.00pm

Last entry to move Urmston is 30 mins before it closes.

Clip and Climb is included in your Move Well membership. More information about the launch to follow soon.

Lockers can be accessed using your wristband.

You will be able to park in move Urmston’s car park and this will be free of charge.

0-4 year olds aren’t included in the Move Well membership, however you can bring a 0-4 year old along with you for a open swim session. Please ensure you check and follow our pool admission policy.

As part of our phased opening the new sensory room will be open for bookings on Monday 27th April 2020. Emma’s room is named after Emma Whiteley a local girl from Urmston who sadly passed away in February 2019 after battling a terminal condition all of her life. Emma’s family have worked hard to make the sensory room a reality for adults and children with complex needs and for anyone who would get enjoyment from accessing the sensory room.

Emma loved music and one of her favourite’s songs was reach for the stars by S club 7. When she was younger she would sing and dance along to it and when she got older and was no longer able to do that her eyes would still light up whenever it was played. Emma’s memory will live on through seeing this room enjoyed by many. From the 16th March until the 26th April, the room will be trialled and utilized by local community groups supporting adults and children’s with disabilities.

Clip & Climb

A phased opening is taking place for move Urmston, with the doors starting to open on the 16th March 2020. The Clip and Climb walls will officially open for the children’s Easter Holidays and more information will be available later this month.

Adults will be able to take advantage of Fit and Climb classes which form part of the Move Well membership package which will go live on the programme from Monday 20th April. Look out for the days/times which will be shown on the group exercise programme.

Junior Members can enjoy Clip and Climb as part of their membership and our new junior members will be invited to test out the wall first ahead of its official opening for the Easter Holidays.
