Trafford’s leisure centres opens its doors for ‘Pay and play’ non-member customers
Trafford Leisure is further extending its reopening strategy and now feels it is in a safe place to welcome back non-member customers from the 4th August at move Urmston, Stretford Leisure Centre, Altrincham Leisure Centre and Sale Leisure Centre.
Trafford Leisure is also reopening its facilities to Active Trafford members. Trafford Active membership provides physical activities at half price for vulnerable groups including the over 65’s, the disabled, those who are unemployed/have a low income and students.
Activities available to the Trafford community now include gym sessions, lane swimming, group exercise classes, with singles badminton being available from the 6th August. Customers wishing to use the new gym at move Urmston must book an orientation session prior to use. The orientation is available to book online. In order for Trafford Leisure to adhere to government guidelines all activities, must be booked in advance either on its website or through its app. Pay and play customers can book their exercise slots up to five days in advance. Trafford Leisure has developed a ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ guide, which can be found on its website, along with an instructional video on the changes customers can expect at the leisure centres.
Craig Lomas, General Manager, move Urmston says: “Our video and FAQ’s will help to support and familiarise our customers with our new operational systems and cleaning regimes. We ask all our customers to take the time to carefully read and watch our guides, as this will help us to help you. We look forward to seeing our pay and play customers again, and once again being able to provide health and wellbeing opportunities for all the Trafford community.”
Lomas continues: “Our leisure centres might look a bit different, but we can guarantee a warm welcome and the support of our expert staff. Gym equipment will be spaced out and different areas of the centres will be used for classes and workouts to give everybody the distance they require. We are providing an enhanced cleaning regime and hand sanitising programme. We will be asking customers to sanitise their hands upon entry to the centres and to support hygiene further by using our hygiene stations and disposable wipes to clean each piece of equipment before and after each workout. There are markers and arrows to help guide customers around the centres. Our absolute priority is to ensure our customers and our team are safe and comfortable.
“We’ve loved watching our members return and to see how well they have adjusted to our new guidelines and health and safety policies. We’ve received some really positive feedback from our customers, which reassures me that we are making the right positive changes to our centres to keep everyone safe and happy. These include Sarah at Altrincham Leisure Centre who said: ‘It’s great to be back; good for my physical but also my mental health’ and Eloise at Sale Leisure Centre who commented: ‘It’s amazing to be back; I feel really safe and welcome.’ We can’t wait to help more customers to come back stronger.”
