After a 16-year partnership, Trafford Leisure and Altrincham Grammar School for Boys
(AGSB) announce that their joint management of The Grammar sports fitness and leisure
facility will come to an end at the close of this year.
The facility, located within the grounds of Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, includes
a sports hall, synthetic pitch, tennis courts, aerobics area, gym and meeting room, and is
a valued community resource open to the public outside of school hours.
The end of the partnership does not signal the closure of The Grammar, as management
of the facility will transition to the UK’s longest-running specialist school lettings company,
Schools Plus, in January 2025. The centre will close for the Christmas holidays on Friday
20th December 2024 as normal, and will reopen under the new operator on behalf of
Altrincham Grammar School for Boys on Thursday 2
nd January 2025.
Trafford Leisure will continue to be strategic partners with Altrincham Grammar School for
Boys, working together to support opportunities for young people, as well as training and
wider health and wellbeing initiatives.
