FAQ update July 19th

 Following the latest Government announcement on the easing of restrictions, we’ll be making gradual changes to our operations

COVID Safety Information

As social distancing is no longer required, more spaces will be made available for some of our sessions, including swimming, gym and classes – we do recommend that you check our website/app for any changes to activities

We ask that you continue to look out for one another and respect an individual’s personal choices in relation to social distancing

Continue to wear face covering in communal and spectator areas.

If you, or anyone in your household, feels unwell or have Covid-19 symptoms, please stay at home follow the government guidance and don’t visit the centre.

We still recommend pre-booking all activities online to guarantee your space, but from the 19th July you can simply turn up and pay by card, if space is available

We are pleased to announce that spaces will increase in the bookable gym sessions across all of our centres

We will still be asking everyone to clean the equipment down after use, however centres will remain open all day with no need to exit the gym between booked sessions for designated cleaning periods

We will be increasing capacity levels in most classes, so availability on your favourite classes should increase

We are working to add even more classes to our studio timetables at all of our leisure centres over the coming weeks

We do ask that you continue to sanitise your hands on arrival and wipe down any equipment after use to help us keep everyone safe

Online bookings will continue for our swimming activities, we will increase the capacity in each bookable session, so there will be more availability for our customers – we do recommend that you check our website/app for any changes to activities

We will be adding in general swim and family sessions to welcome more children back to our swimming pools

You can now play doubles badminton, therefore up to 4 people can play on one court

Over the coming weeks we’ll be re-introducing retail sales including goggles, swim nappies, locker tokens and swimming/gymnastics badges by car payment only

Please note! Once you have submitted your booking for any pay and play activity, unless otherwise stated, it cannot be cancelled, refunded or rearranged to another date or time. You will only be entitled to a refund if your pay and play activity is cancelled by Trafford Leisure for circumstances beyond our control.

If you are a member you can book 7 days in advance and if you pay-and-play, you can book 5 days in advance.

If you are an affiliated sports club who use our outdoor pitches, you are now able to resume your block booking. If you are looking to use the gym and you have not yet received an orientation, you must book an orientation session prior to use.

A limited number of lockers will be available for our customers to use

The junior gym fitness sessions are available for children aged 11-15 years. These will take place in designated areas of Trafford Leisure’s gyms at Sale Leisure Centre, Altrincham Leisure Centre, Stretford Sports Village and move Urmston. All sessions must be booked online in advance.

SWIMMING

After July 19th, we will be adding general swim back on to the timetables at all our centres and there will also be further bookable activities options for families attending our pools

When entering the pool, please select the correct lane / space for your ability – for example slow, medium or fast. Please be prepared to move lanes if the lifeguard asks you to. It is a requirement that customers can swim a minimum of 50 metres

Please remember that your fellow swimmers are of different standards and abilities and you will be using the pool at the same time, so please respect everyone’s right to enjoy their swim

  • Changing rooms will be available if you have booked a swimming activity with us
  • Please use the cubicles and designated changing areas provided
  • Lockers will remain in use

Showers will remain in use, but where possible please shower at home to help reduce the traffic in the changing rooms

Spectating is allowed for general swimming and for lessons, but for our swimming lessons, where possible we ask that only one adult attend with each child

Swimming aids will be provided for all children during swimming lessons. For general swimming, please bring your own swimming aids as there’ll be no swimming equipment available. Therefore if you wish to use a noodle, armbands or a float, then you must bring your own.

For now, adult swimming lessons will remain frozen. We will contact all our customers to let them know before they are due to restart.

Yes, now we have group booking options on some of our swim activities to ensure you can secure places for your group in one booking

FITNESS MEMBERSHIP

Memberships at Trafford Leisure.

If you are a customer that pays for their membership annually, we will be automatically extending your membership for the latest period of closure.

After your first 3 months with us, you can cancel your flexible membership. To do this, please follow the link below.

If you have a fixed membership with us, it normally cannot be cancelled in the first 12 months. However, due to Covid-19 we have relaxed our terms and conditions for members who joined prior to 2021. Please follow the link below for more detail.

Trafford Leisure will be honouring this promise we made, therefore these customers that continued to pay or froze during both lockdowns, will not see a change in their membership price until 1st August 2021 at the earliest.

Upon arrival, a member of staff will be on hand to meet and greet you and to show you the way. They will also check you in by via a tablet or kiosk. Please follow social distancing rules.

Based on government guidelines there will be no drinking fountains available until further notice, therefore please bring your own water. Our vending machines will remain in operation at Altrincham Leisure Centre, Sale Leisure Centre and Stretford Sports Village.

Where possible arrive ‘exercise ready’ for your workout and please shower at home to reduce the traffic and potential contact in the changing rooms. Initially, showers and changing areas will only be available for our swimming customers

GROUP FITNESS CLASSES

Our classes/activities will vary between 30 – 50 minutes: Group exercise = 45 minutes, smaller class = 30 minutes, spin = 30 minutes, THE TRIP = 45 minutes. Please follow the link below to our full timetable.

Yes, due to popular demand our instructors we will continue to deliver live streaming classes on Facebook at various times throughout the week. Please follow us on Facebook for more details.

Juniors from the age of 14 upwards can take part in classes. The only exception is spinning, where they need to be 16 and over.

ACTIVE TRAFFORD

An Active Trafford pass holder is an individual specialist membership that ensures that where financial support is required for someone to be active, they can access facilities and activities at the leisure centres. The pass holder will be able to access swimming, the gym and classes online and benefit from a discounted rate.

Active Trafford pay-and-play customers can access activities Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm & Saturday to Sunday, 9am-12pm.

We have made the process of renewal simple for our customers.

Recognising these uncertain times, the £20 fee will now ensure that no renewal is needed for 3 years. Please present proof of your status on your first visit to show that you are eligible for the type of scheme you have purchased online.

Active Trafford student pass, low income and unemployed will cost £5 per three months. In order to renew every three months, you will need to present proof of student status or low income / unemployment on your first visit after each renewal.
