Maggies ‘Inch Loss Island’ Journey
‘Inch Loss Island’ Antigua – ITV This Morning programme.
Hi, I’m Maggie Kelly, a school crossing patroller/lollipoper in Trafford. I applied to the ITV This Morning programme in November 2018 for help in losing weight. I weighed 19st 8lbs. They accepted my application and sent me to ‘Inch Loss Island’ Antigua.
A week of bootcamp followed including: kayaking, trekking, an aerial assault course, aqua aerobics, yoga, float fit, and mindfulness, alongside a programme of healthy eating.
All this was in an effort to increase my mobility, and lose weight. On return I was encouraged to engage a Personal Trainer to assist with my goal. I enquired at Urmton Leisure Centre where I met Kelly Strickland, who kindly took me under her wing, and showed me the ‘ropes’.
Following 4 personal training sessions with Kelly, she encouraged me to become a member of the leisure centre, which includes full use of the many available facilities, including a well equipped gym, where she compiled a regime tailored to my specific needs.
Aqua aerobics which I attend regularly at Sale or Urmston has been a key part of enabling me to lose 20lbs so far. I am happy with my new regime, and with Kelly and the leisure centre’s help I will continue towards my goal, which will lead to enhanced mobility, and a longer life to enjoy with my new granddaughter Chloe Grace, who is my inspiration to succeed!
