PARTINGTON SPORTS VILLAGE
TO BENEFIT FROM £250,000 INVESTMENT
The sports facilities at Partington Sports Village, based at Broadoak School and operated jointly by the Dean Trust and Trafford Leisure, are to benefit from a £250,000 investment to replace the existing artificial turf pitch surface and upgrade the floodlights.
The investment will enable Partington Sports Village to remain a leading facility and football hub in Trafford.
Partington Sports Village has provided valuable benefits to the school, local and wider community for many years. The third-generation artificial turf pitch in particular, originally part of a £1.6m investment into the facilities at the Sports Village in 2008, has provided much needed football training and competition capacity to clubs throughout both Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
Tarun Kapur, Chief Executive of the Dean Trust says: “It is important to continue to invest in our facilities to benefit the local and wider community, as well as Broadoak School. Such is the popularity of the Sports Village that the existing artificial pitch surface has now deteriorated. The Trust had no hesitation in securing the necessary funds to meet this investment.”
Jo Cherrett, Chief Executive, Trafford Leisure says: “Partington Sports Village is a fantastic facility for our local community. It’s used and loved by so many local clubs and groups, and provides a great opportunity for residents to engage in physical activity. This significant investment into the venue will future-proof these opportunities for the long-term.”
The project is already moving forward, with the works on site due to commence in mid-May 2022 for a period of six to eight weeks. The new facility will be fully operational for the beginning of the new football season.
