Trafford Leisure is on the lookout for a Dry Leisure Assistant. 

Location: Stretford Sports Village

Rate: £12.00 (will rise in April 2025) / £12.92 if fitness qualified

Hours: 10.25 hours per week: shift Friday – 16:45 – 22:15 – Saturday 12:30 – 17:15

In the role of Dry Leisure Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Meet & greeting customers
  • Key holder responsibility to open and lock up the site
  • Staying up to date with systems, processes, and industry best practices.
  • Maintaining training and qualifications
  • Preparing activity areas and equipment to meet the needs of the programme
  • Ensuring all equipment meets the highest standards of safety and cleanliness
  • Ensuring the safety of our customers
  • Listening and responding to customers’ requests
  • Collaborating with managers to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Supporting your centre’s sales and retention

We are looking for motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team at an exciting period of change for Trafford Leisure.

What you need:

To succeed in this role, a Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification is desirable. A First Aid qualification is essential but we can work with you to attain this if needed.

Lifeguard – We Will Pay

WE’LL COVER YOUR QUALIFICATION

Looking for an exciting and rewarding job? We’re hiring Leisure Attendants / Lifeguards across our Altrincham, Sale, Stretford and Urmston sites, and we’ll pay for your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

  • Pay: As a Real Living Wage employer, we guarantee a minimum pay of £12.60 per hour starting from 1st April 2025.
  • Hours: Full-time (36.25 hours per week)

What the Lifeguard role involves:

  • Provide lifeguard support to ensure customer safety
  • Check in and assist customers
  • Set up activity areas and equipment
  • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards

You must be a competent swimmer who is able to swim 50 metres within 60 seconds.

Our sites follow a rota over 2-3 weeks, incorporating a mix of early and late shifts, including one weekend in three. Shifts range from a 6am start to a 10:15pm finish. We prioritise work-life balance by ensuring all employees receive two days off per week and have a clear, predictable schedule to help them plan their personal and professional commitments.

Group Exercise Instructor

Trafford Leisure is looking for a freelance Group Exercise Instructor to teach a Keep Moving class.

Location: Stretford Sports Village

Hours: Mondays – 10:30am-11:15am

Pay: £16.13 per session

We are looking for a passionate and energetic instructor to lead a low-impact, chair-based and standing exercise class. The class focuses on gentle stretching, resistance exercises, and movement sequences to improve flexibility, balance, and strength.

Requirements:

To succeed, you’ll need the relevant qualifications, along with Public Liability Insurance to teach classes. You will also be required to arrange your own enhanced DBS check for this position.

Spin Instructor

Trafford Leisure is looking for a freelance Spin Instructor to join the team.

Location: Stretford Sports Village

Salary: £20.06 per session

Hours: Mondays 19:00 – 19:45

We’re looking for passionate, certified Spin instructors to lead high-energy, motivating classes for all fitness levels. You’ll play a part in delivering unforgettable experiences while staying ahead of the latest fitness trends.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like? As a volunteer at Trafford Leisure, your day will vary depending on the role you are helping with, but all positions involve engaging with the local community, providing support, and ensuring that everyone has a positive and enjoyable experience. You’ll receive training and support from our dedicated team, and your involvement will help keep our facilities running smoothly.

Your Tasks May Include:

  • Greeting and welcoming visitors or participants to the facility
  • Assisting with event or class setup and tidying up afterward
  • Supporting staff in delivering a variety of activities or services
  • Providing friendly and helpful assistance to participants as needed
  • Helping with the setup of equipment and ensuring safety
  • Providing one-on-one support to participants during sessions or activities
  • Helping to maintain a clean, organised environment

You Will Not Be Expected To:

  • Provide professional health or fitness advice
  • Handle heavy or technical equipment without proper training
  • Administer first aid (unless trained and certified)
  • Perform tasks you feel uncomfortable with or are not trained to do

Commitment: Volunteers are needed across a variety of shifts depending on the activity and location. Our venues are open throughout the week, so we can offer flexible volunteer opportunities. Volunteers must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and are required to attend an initial training session (both online and in-person, depending on the role).
